A região produtora de café arábica do Estado do Espírito Santo é caracterizada pelo relevo fortemente acidentado, com solos de baixa a média fertilidade e composta por pequenas propriedades, características estas, ideais para a introdução do sistema de plantio adensado, o qual tem apresentado excelentes acréscimos de produtividade. Em quatro sistemas de adensamento foi observada a curva de resposta a N (100 ? 300 ? 500 ? 700 kg/ha); P205 (0 ? 60 ? 120 ? 180 Kg/ha) e K20 (100 ? 300 ? 500 ? 700
kg/ha). O café arábica apresentou resposta positiva ao nitrogênio e fósforo, e mostrou tendência de aumento de produtividade nos plantios mais adensados.
The arabica coffee producing region of Espirito Santo is characterized by its hilly areas, with
soils of low to medium fertility and composed of small properties. These characteristics are ideal for the introduction of the high coffee tree density planting system which has given excellent increases in productivity. In four high density systems, the responce curve to N (100 ? 300 ? 500 ? 700 kg/ha); P205 (0 ? 60 ? 120 ? 180 Kg/ha) e K20 (100 ? 300 ? 500 ? 700 kg/ha) was observed. Positive responses to nitrogen and phosphorus were observed, with increasing of produtivities on high coffee tree densities systems. |

The processing of the coffee tree fruits, in order to obtain the peeled cherry, involves cleaning operations, which do not consume water, and washing, hulling and mucilage removal, in which the water is used and it is added several residues to it, generating the coffee wastewater?(CWW). The cleaning operation is done in the field and in the processing unit and branches and leaves are removed by shaking and sieving. Washing is performed by removing fragments of branches and leaves, the dirt on the fruits and other impurities that come together during the coffee harvesting. The washing also makes the separation of the coffee bean from the cherry and green fruits possible, which are taken to the huller, where the cherry fruits are peeled and separated from the green ones.To complete the processing, it is common to remove part ofthe mucilage that sticks to the peeled cherry coffee... |
